Thoughts that make me go hmmm. Faith

Enid, Oklahoma

After a couple of days hanging out in Chanute, Kansas getting service work done on our RV at the place it was built and taking a tour of the plant (interesting and brutally hot) we left about noon today and headed toward Sayre , Oklahoma.  It has been a journey almost 2 years in the making and it finally comes together for us to spend some time at Trinity.  When we get there I will write the story of how it came to be but for tonight, it is enough we are almost there.

I invited readers to write if they wanted to share struggles related to high winds in their lives and I have had several take me up on the invitation.  It is amazing to me the things that people deal with each day of their lives and still are able to get out of bed.  It is only by His grace and sustaining love we are held against the pummelling winds of trouble and disappointment.

True faith goes into operation when there are no answers. — Elisabeth Elliot

Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we don’t see.  (Hebrews 11:1 TNIV)

The fundamental fact of existence is that this trust is in God, this faith, is the sure foundation under everything that makes life worth living.  It’s our handle on what we cannot see. (Hebrews 11:1-2 The Message)

I will gladly live in the midst of an unexplainable mystery before believing a lie to feel better about my circumstances.  Bill Johnson

We must declare the goodness and the faithfulness of God even in the middle of our trial, when we don’t have an explantion or answer to our questions and fears.

When we are stuck in conflict and uncertainty, and yet we praise Him without manipulation, it is a sacrifice.  It means we are reacting in a way that produces something beautiful.  In that moment a gate is formed, a place of entrance where the King of glory can invade our situation.

That’s faith.  Faith is all there is.
