Willie McComb

Yesterday, April 14, the oldest son of our dear friends Bill and Leslee McComb was killed in a one car accident on his way to Crystal Mountain for skiing.  At this point it appears that he ran off the road and struck a tree.

Leslee was on her way to Arizona with Rand and Kaylee and the boys helping them move to Phoenix.  She was able to get a flight from Medford to Portland where Rachel, Royal and Jordan met her and drove her home.  Joanna and John were here with Bill while the rest of the family was on there way.

Linda and I along with Curt and Jackie have been here since the news arrived.  Many of Willie’s friends are here now and extended family members come and go.  Please call before you come out 360.426.9410 but so far they have been encouraged by visitors.

There are many unanswered questions that should begin to be answered tomorrow.  Please pray for the people who will care for the details and for those who will run the business while Bill is away.

I know the whole family is being carried by your prayers and your love.

There are no details as yet about a memorial service.

Our family grew up with the McComb family and Kaylee has watched my niece and nephew since they were born. The McCombs were so good to us and comforting when my dad died last year. I can’t even imagine the pain that Bill and Leslee and Willie’s siblings are going through. My mom cried when she heard the news and our thoughts have been consumed with them. Please pass our love and condolences to the family.

This is a strong faith-filled family and they will weather this stormy time come out singing praise. Our prayers are sent up to our heavenly Father with Willie’s name on them. We weep and are empty along with the entire family. We think of our own families and we hold our children tightly and we ache for and with the McCombs.
Peace and love may they reign in your hearts as you walk through this valley.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the McComb family as well as with you and Linda as you walk beside them through this. Praying for comfort, strength and trust from our loving faithful father in the things we cannot understand.

Sometimes we wonder why we are stuck in one place when we wish God would open up His plan and move us. God, in His infinite wisdom knows when and where. Bill and Leslie are blessed to have the two of you to stand by their side. You personally know the anguish they are experiencing. Our prayers and sympathy to the family.

It’s such sad news and we are grieving with them and you. I heard the news this morning in church and immediately thought of you and Linda and of course my brother, who has been through this valley as well. I’m glad they have you and Linda as a friend who can minister to them in ways no one else can. God bless and keep all of you well.
